The holiday season may be winding down, but Drake clearly isn’t done spreading cheer. On Sunday (Dec. 28), the “Hotline Bling” rapper surprised influencer and entrepreneur J Mulan with a $10,000 cash gift in honor of her birthday.
The celebration took place at Area 29 Houston, a venue Drake reportedly used as a recording space over the weekend while working on music believed to be for his upcoming project, Iceman. J Mulan shared a video from the night showing her hugging the Toronto superstar inside the club, with on-screen text reading, “POV: Drake gifts you $10K for your birthday!”
In the clip, a voice can be heard explaining that Drake gave her “$10,000 to go to Chanel tomorrow just because,” adding that the money was “no ones, all hundreds.” J Mulan captioned the post, “DRAKKEEEEEE?!?! Real is rare, thank you… This is how you pop off your birthday.”
According to XXL, Drake previously shared footage of his makeshift studio setup inside Area 29 — temporarily renamed OVO 29 — on Friday (Dec. 26). In the video, someone asks, “Are we recording an album in the club?” to which another person responds, “One thousand percent. You see the setup.”
